Polyethylene
Polyethylene — a thermoplastic ethylene polymer, belongs to the class of polyolefins. This is a mass of white color (transparent and colorless thin sheets). Chemical and cold resistant, dielectric, not sensitive to impact (shock absorber), softens when heated (80—120°C), adhesion (sticking) is extremely low. Widely used for making plastic film, containers (bottles, cans, tanks), sewer pipes, water and gas supply, boats hulls, parts of technical equipment, household items, etc. Low-pressure polyethylene is widely used in landscaping areas and children's playgrounds.
Expandable polystyrene
Polystyrene is a gas-filled material made from polystyrene, its derivatives and from copolymers of styrene. Conventional technology for producing expandable polystyrene is connected with the initial filling of granules of styrene by gas, which dissolves in the polymer mass. Then the steam heats the mass. During this process, the original granules increase in volume multiple times. Polystyrene is most commonly used as heat-insulating and structural material. A considerable amount of Expandable polystyrene is used as a packing and electrical insulating material.
Polystyrene
General-purpose polystyrene is a transparent, hard and brittle material with low mechanical strength. High-impact polystyrene differs from general-purpose polystyrene by high impact strength and less rigidity. Polystyrene is produced from a very wide range of products which are primarily used in the domestic sphere of human activity (disposable tableware, packaging, toys, etc.). High-impact polystyrene and its modifications have been widely used in the field of household appliances and electronics (frame components of household appliances).
Polypropylene
Polypropylene is produced by polymerization of propylene in combination with metal complex catalysts. Polypropylene may be stabilized, painted and unpainted. Unlike polyethylene, polypropylene is less dense, firmer (high-abrasion), more heat-resistant and almost not exposed to cracking corrosion. Used for the films production (especially packaging), bags, containers, pipes, parts of technical equipment, plastic cups, household goods, nonwovens, insulating material in construction for vibration and sound insulation of intermediate floors in the system «floating floor».
